In the last debate Tommy Thompson said he'd end breast cancer by 2015, I thought it was ridiculous, but apparently he's serious, he's got a press release out about it. Wow I had no idea how much power the president had.

He's just playing off the John Edwards 2004 prediction that Christopher Reeves would walk by 2010.
But the best Tommy Thompson moment of this year was when he was asked what he would cut from government and all he came up with was some obscure program within HHS.
And before that there was the time he was the head of HHS and was imploring everyone to lose weight so they'd be healthy. Meanwhile he was weighing in at about 260 pounds with three chins.
